Admission Requirements for the Master programmes

The admission process consists of these parts:

Academic requirements


Master  Requirements 
International Leisure and Tourism Studies 
Bachelor, preferably in Economics, Business Studies, Leisure, Tourism or Hospitality
 
 
International Hospitality Management 
Bachelor, preferably in Economics, Business Studies, Leisure, Tourism or Hospitality
 
 
International Retail Management
Bachelor, preferably in Economics, Business Studies, or Service Management
 
 
International Service Management
Bachelor, perferably in Economics, Business Studies, or Service Management

Additional

  • The SGS will evaluate on a case per case basis and accept students who do not possess an economic or related BA degree. Work experience in the chosen field of study, a positive letter of recommendation of previous school or employer, and/or interview are considered valuable assets for your positive evaluation.
  • Students accepted with non-economic or non-related BA degrees may be required to complete additional academic work and/or assignments in order to eliminate or compensate for academic deficiencies.
  • If deemed necessary, the SGS can require applicants to undertake a personal or telephone interview, a GMAT or an equivalent competency assessment offered by the CHN-SGS and the representing education consultants of the SGS abroad.


Language requirements


The following tests are accepted:
 
IELTS-test with overall Band score of 6.0.

TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer- based),
for IELTS 6.0.
Information on test dates in the Netherlands can be obtained from CITO/TOEFL, PO Box 1203, 7801 BE Arnhem.
 
Applicants who are native speakers of English, or who have successfully undertaken secondary/post-secondary courses (for a minimum of two years) where English was the language of instruction are not required to submit a TOEFL or IELTS test score.
 

Application deadlines


Applications are accepted throughout the year but the following should be observed (location Leeuwarden):

Enrolment in September: 1st semester
The closing date for application is:
31 May for applicants of non-European Union nationality
31 August for applicants with an European Union nationality
 
Enrolment in February: 2nd semester
The closing date for application:
31 October for applicants of non-European Union nationality
21 January for applicants with an European Union nationality
