George Curiel - docent and writer

June 20th, 2008. Last week, George Curiel was visiting Stenden University of Applied Sciences. We were very glad to talk with him about his work and his further plans.

George has been docent in the Master of International Leisure and Tourism Studies programme for 6 years. He left the School of Graduate Studies some 2 years ago to return with his wife to his home country Curacao.

During these 6 years he introduced the ideas and works of Stephen Covey to the CHN. The School of Graduate Studies was the first department to include Covey's ideas in the teaching programme and since these have been introduced to the undergraduate programmes as well.

Besides the leisure and tourism master programme could rely strongly on his many years of experience in development aid and policy development of tourism in the Antilles.

Currently he is writing a book about sustainable leadership together with Dr. Elena Cavagnaro, lector and head of the research group Service Studies at Stenden University of Applied Sciences.
